DR. DAVID M. MOSS, PRESIDENT
David M. Moss is an Associate Professor in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut,
Storrs, CT. His faculty appointment is in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction specializing in
environmental education. His current research interests are in the areas of international education,
environmental education, and teacher education reform. He was recently designated a Teaching Fellow at
the university, the highest honor for instructional excellence. Dr. Moss directs the Teacher Education
London Study Abroad program, and engages in scholarship in schools throughout London, England. Dr. Moss
has authored over 50 articles, book chapters, and reviews on such diverse topics as student understandings
of the nature of science, interdisciplinary education, teacher education, and forest ecosystem health
monitoring. He is co-editor of Interdisciplinary Education in an Age of Assessment (New York: Erlbaum,
in press), Portrait of a Profession: Teachers and Teaching in the 21st Century (Westport, CT: Praeger,
2005), and Beyond the Boundaries: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Learning and Teaching.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire and completed his undergraduate work at Alfred
University. He has extensive curriculum development and assessment experience on projects funded by the
National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
