LYNN SHELLEY-SIRECI, PRESIDENT
Lynn Shelley-Sireci is a Professor of Child Development at Westfield State University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate students research methods and developmental psychology. Lynn also engages in research, mostly in the areas of early intervention and Lesbian and Gay Parenting Issues. Her research has been published in journals such as Adoption Research Quarterly, and the Journal of Homosexuality, and much of it has been presented at NERA.
Lynn earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, and a master’s and doctorate in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University. Her clinical practicum was completed at Bronx Children's Psychiatric Center, and before coming to Westfield State she worked in Bethesda, Maryland at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
Lynn first attended NERA as a graduate student. Since then, Lynn has served in many capacities including on the board of directors (2007-2010); as Conference co-chair with Kristen Huff (2006); on the Distinguished Paper committee; as a liaison to the GSIC, and has contributed articles to the NERA Researcher. She believes NERA has an important mission, to promote and share quality educational research, and to bring together veteran and novice researchers. She is proud to have been a member of NERA for the past 18 years, and looks forward to serving as NERA’s president. |
